Uni-assist e.V. to Consider Master's Degree Applications from India without APS Certificate

Indian students applying for the Winter Semester 2023/24 are not required to submit an APS certificate 🇮🇳

Uni-assist e.V., a German organization that processes university applications for international students, has announced a special regulation for master's degree applicants from India. The move aims to avoid a high rejection rate due to the significant waiting times experienced by Indian applicants for the Academic Evaluation Centre (APS) certificate. From March 15, 2023, qualified Indian master's degree applications will be forwarded to member universities even without an APS certificate. However, member universities must verify the APS certificate's existence before enrollment (Note: APS is still however, required for your visa process)

The adjustment to the process was presented to approximately 60 represented member universities in a Jour Fixe meeting on February 16, 2023. The move was widely welcomed, and it aims to minimize service efforts in the business office and universities due to expected complaints and enable member universities to handle the altered application process and volume. The special regulation will only apply to Indian master's degree applicants for the Winter Semester (WSV) 2023/24.

Applications previously rejected due to the absence of an APS certificate will be processed promptly from the cut-off date. Uni-assist e.V. will also accommodate universities that still wish to reject affected applicants due to incomplete documents. They will need to inform the university service by March 10, 2023.
